THOMAS JAY of Bedford Co. PA
Thomas Jay, born 1779 in Loudon Co. VA, has been traditionally recorded as a son of David Jay (b. 1750) who migrated into Bedford Co. PA. Married twice and the father of at least nine (9) children, Thomas Jay, prepared the foundations for a very large Jay family group that still live in the Mann Township area of Bedford Co. Literally hundreds of descendants still live in the county.

Thomas Jay died in 1866 and is buried at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Southhampton Township, Bedford Co. PA.

This line seems to be related to the family of William Jay b. 1767 (m. Anne King) of Loudoun Co. VA and Frederick Co. MD by DNA evidence. However, that relationship is likely a very distant cousin and possibly pre-immigrant.
